[ He watches his body language carefully, his unfocused gaze, his lowered ears. It's more than just watching the rain. There is more to this. ]

You can watch the rain from inside. The storm is getting worse. [ He might as well answer his question, and he does so while crossing his arms instinctively. ] I am on my way back to GUN headquarters. No doubt they will attempt to give me an assignment in this horrendous weather. Hmph.

[ He pauses, then uncrosses his arms, standing a little closer. I have never seen him look this weary. Usually, he is cheerful and upbeat, letting nothing get him down. And yet, he sounds so even. Perhaps he is just watching the rain.

And somehow, I doubt it. ]

You... [ He hesitates, not knowing quite how to address the situation. ] ...You look weary.

[ At first, Sonic doesn't reply. He continues to watch the rain outside of the shelter of the tree dribble down, not making any move to get anywhere near shelter, despite Shadow's hidden suggestion. He isn't really watching it, his gaze blurred, not by tears but from lack of any real focus. ]

If you're so mad at GUN, why don't you holler at them?

[ He chooses to ignore the verbal acknowledgment to his own condition. ]

shadou-kun will find the dokis for you

[ He raises an eye ridge. ] As much as I'd like to, they are my vessel to protecting this world. Thus, I have my obligations. [ Although his gaze is focused out, he keeps Sonic in his peripheral, watching his stillness, his lack of focus. Where is the energetic blue hedgehog I am accustomed to? It seems that aspect has been washed away by the rain. ]

You may ignore me if you want, but I shall stay here. [ He subtly flicked his fingers under his glove and shut his communicator off. Yes, I will get scolded for doing so. There are more important things at hand.

Such as finding this one's spark. ]
